Within one month the laces broke, shredded by rough, poor quality eyelets and cheapo laces- the laces were easily replaced.
In 6 months, the insoles fell apart, now I’m walking on the inside of the airwair soles, which is a little uncomfortable.
The outer airwair soles are wearing pretty well, the heels have not completely worn away (better than clarks brand crepe soles), but the small amount tread has disappeared.

2 stars for paying $100 for crap construction.

The fit and shape of the shoe is great, and very comfortable for my foot shape. I love that the shoes don’t have any foam padding and “strapping” which i find pointless and uncomfortable since it cuts down on ventilation.

Glad to see that the price came down. The $100 price tag was ridiculous considering the quality. I “might” buy them again at the lower price for the few months of comfort they give.

Not a bad boot for the price. They do run somewhat large as I normally wear I 13 and the size 12 boot fits well. I have had these boots for about 15 months now, wearing them almost daily and noticed a small tear where the leather meets the sole near the base of your big toe. There is also some wear in the heels but that is minimal. I give them 3 stars since they aren’t very comfortable. I had to use a cushion insole from the very start. Also, the laces ripped about a month in so I replaced them with leather kiwi laces and I think it improves the look. Overall, the boots are a good deal for $80 and I plan to wear them out until I invest in a better quality pair (Red Wing or Wolverines).

Everything is thinner in these shoes. The leather is thin, but the soles are especially thin. The sole thickness is about half of what you see on the outside in the picture and what is there is not solid. Half of that is a hollowed out waffle pattern above the tread which makes contact with the ground so the actually wear and tear surface is THIN! Not the same quality or as sturdy as other Docs I own.
The shoes do look good and are comfortable. Because the leather is so thin they break in quickly. Considering the lower price I don’t feel cheated but cannot recommend these based on the expectations I have of Dr. Martens.

What you’d expect from this famous brand, they are replacing my caterpillar boots and I’m really pleased with them, so well made and comfortable. Buy the Dr Martens dubbin and spend 10 minutes making the boots fit for puddles and rainy outings. Very impressed.

I received this Doc Martens Cabrillo last week and worn it yesterday but the shoes looked that it had been worn for so many times on the first day. It had marks already as if they were roughly used. The shoes looks great but the leather is so thin with the shoe laces so cheaply added to the shoes.
It is a fake Doc Martens shoes from china better if they were from Vietnam just like my other Doc Sussex with real leather.
Made a mistake ordering this pair but had to take it. I really HATE items made from china. Where do American made stuffs are now?

  6. Chuck Mason

Within one year the fake stitching around the perimeter of the sole frayed on both fronts and detached along 2″ of the left front.
In an attempt at replacement, DM claims it was ‘wear and tear’. I never walk on my toes, nor do I play soccer.
Good luck. Buy these, and you’ll need it.

These are in US sizes. I wear a 12D men’s dress shoe, ordered size 12 of this, and it fits perfectly. These are comfy, right out of the box (my Docs in the 1990s weren’t… so, something has changed…) The sole seems to be lighter, more see-thru, and doesn’t have the old “Oil, Fat, Acid, Petrol Resistant” stamp, but other than that, they look just like the old 1460 style (yellow stitching, AirWair pull-on loop, etc.). These are basically a desert boot, done Docs style, which suits me just fine. Whereas i preferred 8 hole oxbloods in the 90s, these fit my no-longer-cool-coz-i-work-in-an-office life nowadays. Saddle soap, mink oil, and change out the laces, and you’ve a comfy boot with style.

I’ve had these shoes in brown for a few years now and I wear them almost every single day. They’re still holding up and look great, just had to replace the shoelaces once!

I just bought the black ones and wow do I love em! The combination of comfort, durability, and style (normally you’d have to compromise on at least one of these) is fantastic, especially at this price point!

Pair with a nice t-shirt or button-down. Either way they look great!!

(The only photo I have of these shoes is with my cat. Lets see if Amazon lets me post it. Haha!)

I bought these for my husband for an anniversary trip. I can rarely find nice looking boots that he’ll wear because he complains that they’re too uncomfortable. I thought these might win him over with some nostalgia (he was big on docs during his punk rock days). He absolutely loves these and is always commenting on how surprisingly comfortable they are. He does have to wear thick socks with them as they don’t come in half sizes, but the fact that he’ll wear them without me even asking is a win in my book!

I’ve bought DM shoes and classic boots previously but this is my first pair of their Chukka / Desert boots. Unlike their regular range, the leather isn’t as stiff so they don’t need breaking in (at least that’s what I’ve found) and after two wears of 6 hours apiece, they were comfortable straight away and I don’t have any blisters. One thing to point out is that the sole is “gummier” than their regular boots and shoes so how long they last remains to be seen.

I like them very much and since they were cheaper from Amazon than buying them from my local DM store, a bargain as well.
